Get the Look: Overalls

Overalls are one of my favorite street style trends for spring!
… But they can be tricky to pull off.  I suggest opting for a darker wash if you’re feeling a little unsure about the trend.  Pairing overalls with a classic stripe is an easy way to incorporate them into your wardrobe.  I chose to offset the classic stripes with pops of neon and a trendy stacked heel.  River Island has an amazing selection of these fun jeweled statement clutches!

One Trend from 2013 to Wear in 2014: Winter White

Monochromatic outfits have been trending all over the Street Style and Fashion Blogger scenes.  Wearing head to toe white, black, or denim has been one of my favorite trends of the season, which I’m sure will carry on into the Spring of 2014.

Head-to-toe monochromatic Winter White has been one of the most difficult trends from 2013 for people to incorporate into their every-day looks… Especially given the fact that old-fashioned rules have told us that white is not acceptable to wear after Labor Day.  Now more than ever is the time to break the rules, step out of your comfort zone,  and try wearing Winter White.

With Spring quickly approaching the trend will start to catch on within the general population, as it will seem more acceptable to break out the white pants.  The best way to dip into the trend is to wear different shades of cream throughout your outfit or to offset your winter white with a black accent.  This is a fool-proof way to incorporate the trend into your wardrobe without going all bright white.

If you’re feeling brave and want to try the all bright white look, as always, make sure your look is tailored, crisp, and proportional to your body.  Ill-fitting clothing is the quickest way for this trend to be a flop.

Take a look at these great examples of how to wear Winter White for some inspiration on how to put it all together!

2014: Add a Little Sparkle

Celebrate the beginning of a New Year and new possibilities by incorporating a little sparkle into your wardrobe!

Sequins are normally reserved for special occasions such as birthdays, holidays, or a night out; however, sparkles and metallics are trending as part of the every-day wardrobe.

Whether it’s through a metallic skirt, sequins pants, or sparkly blazer, this trend is perfect for adding a little excitement to any outfit.  Being on the downside of winter here in the US, adding some sparkle is the perfect way to vamp up your winter wardrobe to get through the rest of the season.  I mean, who can have the winter blues when they are wearing sequins?

Are You Blushing? Top Color Trend for Winter

Blush pink was once the dreaded bridesmaid dress color by women everywhere; however, this season the opinions on blush pink have shifted.  The pink hues have taken their rightful place as the top color trend for Fall and Winter 2013.  Whether on the runways, on the streets, or on the top fashion innovators, the color is hard to ignore.

The mix of blush pink with different textures and fabrics such as velvet or leather has been a great way to keep the pink combinations edgy and to avoid looking like you just stepped out of the movie Legally Blonde. Blush pink mixed with winter white, black, camel, gray, or geometric prints keep the over-all look fresh, and not overpowering.  Below I’ve compiled my favorite photos of blush pink for some color inspiration. Enjoy!

A Toast To Trends: WORD

Statement tees are on trend this season and will continue to be on trend into Spring 2014.  Graphic tees and band tees have been popular; however, my favorite way to wear this trend is through word tees.  The t-shirts can be dressed up with statement skirts, dressed down with denim, or edged-up with leather.

A Toast To Mood Boards: Black & White Stripes

My FAVORITE color combination is black and white, so you can imagine how excited I am about how fast the black and white trends are taking off.

Black and white is such a classic color combination that any trendy piece purchased in this color combination will have a key place in your wardrobe for years to come. Classic colors such as black and white paired with stripes is a fool-proof look that is always chic and elegant.  Throw on a red lip or red nails for some extra sass and a pop of color!
