A Toast To Australian Fashion & Derby Day

I have recently been obsessed with the creative direction of Elle Ferguson and Tash Sefton (pictured below), the fashion mavens behind the famous blog and never-ending source of inspiration that they like to call They All Hate Us.  If you are not familiar with their work, they offer a laid-back style with an impeccable eye for detail.  The pair also guest reports for Vogue Australia’s Style Spy.

The Aussie duo has led me to follow Australian fashion religiously.  The mix of beachy-chic that the Aussies have mastered so effortlessly is appealing to me. As a classic Audrey Hepburn type but with strong roots in coastal life, the style seems to have the perfect balance that I have been searching for. Through following Elle and Tash I have discovered more stylish Australians such as Laura Bingle, Rebecca Judd, and Jennifer Hawkins to name a few.

Saturday was the Victoria Derby Day to kick-off the Melbourne Cup at Flemington Racecourse in Australia.  The event drew fashion insiders from all around the world to show their best Derby Day looks. Below are some of my favorite images from the event!
